2	tb	Almond oil
1	tb	Grated beeswax
1/8		To 1 ts beet juice or beet-root powder

Lip stains are perfect for giving your lips sheer, natural color. Beet-root powder is a lovely purple-red color that is perfect for lip glosses. It has a sweet taste and is often used in place of sugar when cooking. You can experiment with teh amounts to achieve different shades. You can easily make your own beet juice by blending or mashing the root and stem of a beet and straining out any solids.

Mix together the oil and wax and heat gently to melt the wax. The mixture may be heated in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 mintues or on the stove top using a water bath. Add the beet juice or powder and stir the mixture well. Do not worry if the mixture seems to separate ~ it will stay together when cool. As the mixture cool, you may add more juice or powder until you have the shade of color you desire, from pink to red. Place in a clean container and apply to your lips using a clean finger or lip brush.
